Sunday, September 15, 2024. There’s something about the sunsets and evenings at Beaufort Town Docks Marina that adds to the pleasure of staying here. Yes, we always see beautiful boats and have met some wonderful people here, and what I also love is the marina is perfect for catching sunsets and evening lights.

If we lived in Beaufort, we would be among those calling for the town to keep the Beaufort Town Docks a PUBLIC MARINA. In the not too distant future, the current lease will be up on the town docks and the town will have to make a decision on the future of the marina. Whatever that decision may be, KEEP THE DOCKS PUBLIC, PLEASE.

The current management of the town docks operates to the benefit of transient boaters, the town, and its citizens, the way marinas used to be operated. Sadly, today an increasing number of marinas are focused on enriching one person or development corporation. It should never be forgotten that properly managed town docks support local businesses, business development, jobs, and tax revenues in a way non-boaters may not understand.

Enjoy a glimpse of marina life at Beaufort (NC) Town Docks.
